Rekero Tented Camp is situated in the midst of the Mara Serengeti Ecosystem, home to the greatest concentration and diversity of wildlife in the world.

Owned and managed by the Beatons, one of the original pioneering families who arrived in Africa in 1889, guests will experience old time hospitality, combined with outstanding guiding as well as a unique insight into the Maasai Mara’s wildlife, culture, flora and fauna. The camp is set up seasonally (June - March) and caters for up to eighteen guests in eight tents.

Located very close to the confluence of the Mara and Talek rivers Rekero is ideally situated for the annual migration, the movement of over one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand zebra from the Serengeti through the Masaai Mara.

Along with Gerald Beaton, Rekero is co-owned by Jackson Ole Looseyia, a local Maasai who has become famous through the BBC's Big Cat Diary, and with them their team of professional Masaai guides and camp crew have worked together for years, providing guests with a truly memorable experience.

With your experienced Maasai and Il Dorobo guides wildlife viewing can be done on foot or in custom built safari vehicles which allow intimate yet unobtrusive access to the animals. Visits to one of the local villages can be arranged, picnics in the bush and sundowners feature and hot air ballooning can be arranged on request.
