Within Libya five different climatic zones have been recognized, but the dominant climatic influences are Mediterranean and Saharan.
The Sahara is very dry and hot in the summer and temperatures can reach a sweltering 50 degrees celcius during the day (however they are more commonly around 40°C). Night temperatures can also vary from 30 to 40°C.
Unless you really enjoy this sort of temprature then we recommend thebest time for visiting the Sahara is from October to April when average temperatures range from 15 to 30°C during the day and from 5 to 20°C at night and you are unlikely to encounter rainfall (most likely to occur in January or February and rarely lasts long).
